We'll send your dates so you can keep them — and share them with your family or your agent.
For education only. Dates follow Medicare's published rules: a 7-month Initial Enrollment Period around your 65th-birthday month (shifted one month earlier if you were born on the 1st), coverage starting as early as the first day of your birthday month when you enroll in the three months before it, a 6-month Medigap open-enrollment window from your Part B start, and the October 15 – December 7 Annual Enrollment Period. Special rules apply to disability, COBRA, retiree plans, TRICARE, VA coverage, and HSAs — confirm your exact dates with a licensed MSIS Inc. agent or Medicare.gov / 1-800-MEDICARE.
Why the "3 months before" matter
Enroll in the three months before your birthday month and coverage starts the day you're eligible — no gap. Enroll during or after your birthday month and your start date slips later. Same window, very different outcomes.
Don't sleep on the Medigap window
Your first 6 months with Part B are the only time a Medicare Supplement must accept you at the best rate regardless of health, in most states. It's the single most valuable deadline on this timeline for many people.
